San Salvador: World Juggling Day was observed in San Salvador with public workshops, juggling competitions and international circus performances, as artists and enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the performing art and promote circus culture.

The annual celebrations, hosted by the local circus and juggling community, brought together performers from El Salvador and abroad for a series of events aimed at encouraging wider public participation in juggling and related disciplines.

The festivities were primarily organised by local collectives, including Malabarismo El Salvador, with support from cultural institutions such as the Alianza Francesa de San Salvador.

As part of the celebrations, organisers conducted open workshops introducing participants of all ages to juggling techniques and circus skills. Competitions showcasing the creativity and technical abilities of performers also formed a key part of the programme.

One of the main attractions was the international circus gala, featuring performances by both local and visiting artists. The event included juggling acts, acrobatics, clown performances and other contemporary circus disciplines.

World Juggling Day is observed annually on the Saturday closest to 17 June to commemorate the founding of the International Jugglers Association (IJA) in 1975. Juggling communities across the world mark the occasion through public events, performances and educational activities.

Organisers in San Salvador said the observance serves not only as a celebration of juggling but also as a platform to strengthen cultural exchange, foster creativity and promote greater appreciation for circus arts.

Over the years, the annual gathering has become one of the most important events for El Salvador's circus community, reflecting the growing popularity of juggling and alternative performing arts in the region.
